Troubleshooting Steps if the Website Does Not Load
Follow these steps to resolve common issues when the site doesn't load properly:
1. Close and Reopen Your Browser
- Completely close your browser window.
- Wait a few seconds and then reopen the browser.
- Attempt accessing the site again.
Why this helps: Closing and reopening the browser can clear temporary glitches and reset the browsing session, resolving minor loading issues.
2. Log Out and Log Back In
- Sign out of your account.
- Log back in to refresh your session.
Why this helps: Logging out and back in refreshes your session, resolving authentication-related issues or session timeouts.
3. Perform a Speed Test
- Open Google.
- Type "speed test" into the search bar and run the test.
- Confirm your internet connection is stable and performing adequately. A recommended download speed is at least 10-25 Mbps, and an upload speed of around 5 Mbps.
Note: A slower connection may still work, but you might experience loading delays or other minor issues.
Why this helps: A speed test verifies that your internet connection is strong enough to support website loading, helping you identify connectivity problems.
4. Clear Cache and Cookies (Carefully)
Clearing cache and cookies helps resolve loading issues but must be done cautiously to avoid losing personal information such as saved passwords and form data.
- On your computer, open your Chrome browser.
- At the top right, click More (three stacked dots icon) then select Delete Browsing Data
- Choose a Time Range like Last 7 days or longer
- Select the Advanced tab
- ONLY select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data.
- Ensure you deselect options like "Browsing history", "Download history", "Passwords and other sign-in data", "Autofill form data", "Site settings", and "Hosted app data"
- This is to ensure that you do not clear any of your personal data
- Click Delete data.
Why this helps: Clearing cache and cookies removes outdated or corrupted files, allowing your browser to load fresh data correctly.
After completing these steps, reload the website and see if the issue is resolved.
