Overview
Use this guide to create Reprocessing Records in the Feedlot Manager system for documenting follow-up Health treatments and medical interventions for Cattle Lots. Reprocessing Records track Medical Items applied during follow-up care, costs incurred, and maintain comprehensive audit trails for regulatory compliance and operational management.
Creating Reprocessing Records is essential for documenting when Cattle require follow-up Health treatments, additional vaccinations, supplementary implants, or other medical interventions after initial Processing. The system automatically calculates costs, updates Lot weights, and maintains detailed historical records for each Reprocessing activity.
Prerequisites
Before creating Reprocessing Records, ensure you have:
- At least one Processing Record completed and associated with a Lot
- Cattle assigned to Pens within the system
- Medical Items available in inventory with proper pricing
- Reprocessing protocols configured for your operation
- Access to the Health section of Feedlot Manager with Reprocessing permissions
- Understanding that Reprocessing is designed for follow-up treatments after initial Processing
Navigate to Reprocessing
- Log in to your Feedlot Manager system
- In the left sidebar navigation, click on Health
- From the Health submenu, click on Processing
- Click on the Reprocessing tab

Important Notes
Reprocessing vs. Processing Workflow
Key Differences:
- Purpose - Reprocessing is designed for follow-up treatments after initial Processing
- Field Terminology - Uses "Reprocessed Date" instead of "Processed Date"
- Status Values - "Reprocessing" status during active workflow, "Reprocessed" when complete
- Treatment Focus - Specialized for cattle requiring additional medical interventions
Date-Driven Field Adjustment
Important Behavior:
- Default Display - Shows today's Headcount and Pens values associated with the Lot
- Historical Accuracy - When selecting past dates, system auto-adjusts to show accurate historical pen locations and head counts
- Data Integrity - Ensures Reprocessing Records reflect accurate information for the selected date
Medical Item Selection Guidelines
Best Practices:
- Protocol Guidance - Processing Protocol selection pre-fills recommended Medical Items
- Custom Combinations - Users can modify selections beyond protocol defaults
- Implant Considerations - Multiple implants per record not recommended (only first implant appears in Reimplant Report)
Troubleshooting
Common Issues:
Problem: Cannot click Create New Worksheet button
- Solution: Ensure the Lot has Current Head Count greater than 0 and Cattle are assigned to Pens
Problem: Reprocessed Date not accepted
- Solution: Reprocessed Date must be today or in the past - future dates are not allowed
Problem: Medical Item selections not saving
- Solution: Ensure all required fields (Processing Protocol, Reprocessed Date) are completed before saving
Problem: Head Count validation errors
- Solution: Verify Head Count values do not exceed available Cattle per Pen as shown in the Pen Information section
