Manual Feed Entry

Gather data about any pen on any date by:

Feed > Manual Feed Entry

1. Select Date (default current date)
   - Pens that have a feed call for that ration and date are auto populated  
2. Select Ration: leaving the Ration unselected allows you to use the View Pen Info feature
3. See Feed 1, Feed 2, Feed 3, Feed 4
   

• • 'Feed' Field Definitions:

    
    'Feed Call' - This refers to the total amount of feed called for the pen according to the user's last saved feed call. 
    
    

    'Feed 1' , 'Feed 2'  and 'Feed 3' - These fields reflect the the total lbs of the ration fed to the pen on that particular feeding as set by the ration schedule (see image above)
    
    'Feed 4' - This is meant to be an additional field for adjustment purposes. It is always selectable and available to accept input. It is intended to be used to make adjustments outside of the schedule.

    • It can also be used to enter the entire feed amount (typically only if your feedlot is feeding manually without our ipad system).
      
      

    Using the NGAT Feed App

    **Note that commodities will be deducted based on the commodity % set in the ration** 
    
    

    Example:  If you load commodities for a pen and for some reason the feed called by the iPad is not delivered; then DO NOT enter and MFE for that feeding, otherwise a double deduction of commodities will occur. 

    • If you need to add a feed value to correct an iPad entry, navigate to the 'Feed Status' screen and you may edit your iPad entries from there:

Create Manual Feed Entry:

1. +Add Row - use this button to add rows. Add as many rows as you need for the specific date and ration. 
2. Select desired Pens for each row
3. Add Feed values for each row
4. After entering values for all added rows, click “SUBMIT” button. **Individual rows will not be saved if “SUBMIT” is not clicked**

• • **REMEMBER: Be careful, if you select Ration, select a Pen, Enter a Feed value and click ‘Submit’ then a Feed entry will be saved to that Pen for that Date with that Ration
  • A successful feed entry submission is confirmed by a pop-up message in the top, right corner of the screen that says “Manual Feed Entry Updated Successfully.”
    

Current Rules:

• • Move cattle BEFORE feed call that day
  • Cannot handle moves after feed call / intraday 
  • Does not handle moves after feeding is done on the same day via UI correctly. The pen will say 0 hd even though the charges are assigned correctly

Estimated Head Count:

• This field will show a value if you’ve saved an Estimated Head Count from the Feed Call screen or from this Manual Feed Entry screen
• Shows Lot#, Head Count, Estimated Head Count
• By default Estimated Head Count is blank
• Entering a value on this modal will adjust the Feed Charges accordingly

View Pen History:

• • This option will display all of the following for the selected Pen: Ration, Total Call, AF/Hd, DM/Hd, Lot, Head Count, Pen Current Weight, WT/DM, Bunk Score, AF Change/Head, DM Change/Head.

  • Pen History will also show historical actions including: Moves, Mortalities, Receives.
